YouHodler Italy has filed its official MiCAR application with CONSOB

On 29 December 2025, YouHodler Italy S.r.l. officially filed its application for authorisation as a CASP (Crypto-Asset Service Provider) with the Italian supervisory authority, CONSOB, in accordance with the European MiCAR Regulation (Markets in Crypto-Assets).
In particular, MiCAR introduces clear rules for operators in the sector, requiring authorisation as a CASP for all crypto service providers intending to operate in Europe.
This communication reflects our intention to inform our users clearly and transparently about the regulatory path taken by YouHodler Italy S.r.l., in line with the guidance issued by the European and national authorities.
Under MiCAR and the related Italian implementing legislative decree, all Virtual Asset Service Providers (“VASPs”) duly entered in the special section of the register kept by the OAM must, in order to continue operating in Italy (and in Europe), file an application for authorisation in Italy or in another Member State by 30 December 2025, so as to obtain the “CASP” licence.
The application filed by YouHodler Italy
Against this background, YouHodler Italy S.r.l. duly filed its application for authorisation with CONSOB within the deadline set by law. The application was submitted on 29 December 2025, allowing the company to fall within the transitional regime provided for by MiCAR.
This means that YouHodler Italy S.r.l. may continue to operate in Italy while the competent authority assesses the application, and in any case no later than 30 June 2026, as established by the legislation in force.
What changes (and what does not) for clients
For YouHodler Italy S.r.l.’s Italian clients, day-to-day operations do not change in any way. The services remain available and can be used as usual, as does access to the funds and crypto-assets held on the platform.
At this stage:
- the services remain fully operational;
- relationships with clients continue to be governed by national law;
- any updates will be communicated promptly and transparently.
Why choosing compliant operators matters
The supervisory authorities have repeatedly drawn investors’ attention to the importance of checking that the crypto operators they deal with are entitled to provide services in Italy. From the end of the transitional period, only authorised operators (or those awaiting authorisation) will be able to continue operating.
To protect yourself, it is always advisable to:
- check that your operator has filed a MiCAR application or has already been authorised;
- consult the official OAM and ESMA registers;
- ask the operator directly for clarification in case of doubt.
Our commitment to users
YouHodler Italy S.r.l. has always regarded regulatory compliance and user protection as central to its strategy.
Filing the MiCAR application is a further step along that path.
We will continue to keep our clients informed through the official website in the section dedicated to MiCAR and through direct communications, sharing every relevant update on how the authorisation process develops.
